Claret & Banter Code of Conduct

A. Preamble
The Claret & Banter forum is open to all supporters and followers of Bradford City who wish to become members of this forum in order to express their views and opinions on anything connected with our club. We encourage active debate and discussion and understand that there is a wide range of opinions and different points of view which need to be accommodated. Naturally, we expect all members to participate in the discussions in a responsible and considerate manner. The forum is available to many different types and ages of people and we ask that members respect this.

We encourage supporters of other clubs to join in the discussions and expect those members to equally recognise their responsibilities as a member of this forum and comply with this Code of Conduct.

There is no limit on the number of letter or words which may be contained in your posts and the continued use of text speak is a breach of this Code.

This Code of Conduct applies equally to your use of any chatroom facilities as it does to the main forum.

Private Messages (PMs) between members are not monitored. You agree however not to use the PMs to circumvent the Code of Conduct regarding the use of insults, threats to or the harassment of other members. Such behaviour will be regarded as if it were an 'open' post and be regarded as a breach of this Code.

If you believe that posts submitted by other members breach this Code, please use the 'Report' button on the particular post for reporting this to the Moderators who will investigate the alleged breach. The Report is confidential and not known to the original poster. Any action taken in respect of the Report will be solely at the discretion of the Moderators. However, persistent or vexatious Reports of posts which do not breach the Code in the view of the Moderators will not be tolerated.

You recognize that representatives of the forum do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy of any information posted here and that any message expressed on the forum reflects the views of its author, not necessarily the views of this forum or any entity associated with this forum.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless this forum and its representatives, the owners of this forum, Xenforo Limited (the providers of the software), and their agents with respect to any claim based upon the content of your posts. The Administrators also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or other identifying information) in the event of legal action and/or what is deemed by the Administrators to be a serious complaint arising from any message posted by you.

D. Our Responsibilities
Administrators and Moderators of this forum have the primary duty to enforce this Code of Conduct. They are empowered to take positive actions that improve the general well-being of the forum and its community. Moderators will therefore take the appropriate action in accordance with this Code for the benefit of the forum and for good of the membership as a whole.

Moderators answer for their actions to their fellow Moderators and Administrators.

Generally speaking, Administrators and Moderators try to provide fair warning about behaviour that might require their action. Failure to act on legitimate requests from the Administrators and Moderators is regarded as a breach of this Code.

Moderators will review and take action if necessary on posts Reported to them by any member as potentially breaching this Code.

Members may disagree with the decisions or actions of the Moderators and Administrators, but disagreements, criticism and similar comments are to be regarded as confidential and are not to be aired within the discussion topics. If you believe that Moderator action has been incorrect, send a PM to the Administrator explaining your position and the decision will be reviewed. Raising the issue on the forum will be regarded as a breach of the Code.

The ultimate decision on whether a member is acting in accord or otherwise with this Code rests solely with the Administrators and the Moderators.

E. Breach of the Code of Conduct
The Administrators and Moderators of the forum operate a system of Warnings and Bans which are used in the event of a breach or breaches of this Code of Conduct by the forum's members. Warnings will normally be issued for minor transgressions of the Code whilst Bans will be used only for more serious contraventions. Bans can be of relatively short duration, e.g. 7 days or 14 days or can be applied permanently for the most serious contravention of this Code or for its continuous or repeated breach. Bans will be applied to members who have already received three earlier warnings and continue to breach this Code.

Any Ban imposed on a member will apply equally to all other identities or duplicate accounts which the member has created for whatever reason. Similarly, any sanction applied to a member's duplicate account may also be applied to their main account. An attempt to subvert the ban through the use of a new identity will lead to an extension of the original ban.

Posts, or parts thereof, which breach the Code but which do not warrant a Warning or Ban may be deleted without prior notice.

Informal warnings may be provided at the discretion of the Moderator. However the responsibility for your posting rests with you and we reserve the right to issue sanctions without further warning if the offence merits it. If you have already received a warning or short period ban you should be aware you are operating on 'thin ice' and should be particularly mindful of what you post.

In registering for or in continung to use this forum, you agree that if it is considered by the Administrators and/or Moderators that any of your contributions are in breach of this Code of Conduct then they are entitled to take the necessary and appropriate actions in accordance with this Code. © DTM
