Just stumbled upon this footage of our 2-0 win over boro in 87. Great to see! Lovely goal from Mark Leonard for 1-0.

think that's a history of bcfc video from years ago. Sure I have the vhs somewhere ? Bobby describes Mccall as being built like a bag of bones I seem to remember. Ends with frank Stapleton's rein I think.

Was privileged to be at that match. What a team we had back then, I've always remembered that second goal in particular, superb run by SM and sublime finish by Leigh Palin....I was always in town for opening time in those days before mortgage and four kids came along......Happy days ☺

That game was one of City's best ever performances. The goals were superb but the overall display was just fantastic. Still one of my all time favourite seasons played by the nearly team of 87/88.

We probably could....on our day...shame the team we outplayed 3 times over 4 games that season stopped that team competing in the top flight.

Best City team not to get promoted IMO.

And of course John Hendrie doing what he did best. Leaving the defender in knots and a pin point cross for Zico. 1 0

A travesty that that team fell at the last hurdle. Would have held their own in the old First Divison too.
