Following last Thursday's disappointment at losing out at the last minute to Coca-Cola Football League Championship side Reading in signing Brentford's out of contract left-winger Steven Hunt, the transfer rumour mill is in full swing again with Bradford City being linked to a possible move for Walsall winger Darren Wrack.

The 29-year old former Derby County, Grimsby Town and Shrewsbury Town player has been the subject of much interest from League One clubs but he missed a lot of last season through injury.

Despite one internet site site claiming the Wrack signing is imminent, the club have laughed off suggestions.

Manager Colin Todd has got used to reading about new City targets on the scores of football internet sites, official and unofficial.

In some cases, like Derby's Brazilian striker Junior, he is even said to have held contract talks.

Certainly Colin Todd has admitted interest in Newcastle United's Michael Chopra, former Celtic player Bobby Petta and last week saw the fiasco involving Hunt who had agreed terms, flew into Leeds Bradford airport ready to have his medical and sign a two-year deal with the Bantams, only to receive a call from Steve Coppell and promptly got back on the plane leaving City staff stunned. . . and fuming!

But it is doubtful that the City boss has lost a lot of sleep over many of the reported targets, which include John Oster, Julian Joachim, Michael Boulding, Michael Bridges, Lincoln City's Richard Butcher and former Bantam Danny Cadamarteri, who Chairman Julian Rhodes has said will not be rejoining the club if he persists with his current wages demands.

Todd has said he may switch his attentions to a loan signing next season.

"We might have to pursue somebody from the Premiership for a year," he admitted. "But that shows the calibre of people we are trying to bring in."

I posted a thread about City moving for Darren Wrack or Sammy Igoe last week!
I think both would be good additions to our squad, especially Wrack who has a great scoring rate for a midfielder.
