I went down for my Shrewsbury tickets yesterday, and asked about Oldham tickets. They said they asked for them just before Christmas but they haven't arrived yet, they were chasing them up.

They have 'swopped' ends. Away fans are now in the Chadderton Road end, which is more sheltered than the Rochdale Road end. Older stand, but given the roof, it can generate more sound. The Rochdale road end is like a ship's sail for all the freezing rain/wind/snow, blowing over the Lancashire plain (and that is in July!). Got a great view from there of the Cole/Knott goal last season.

Check:- 'Away fans are housed in the ZenOffice Stand (Chaddy Road End) at one end of the ground. This stand has a capacity of around 1,600 fans. This is the opposite end to where the away fans have been housed for many years and has caused some upset with some Oldham fan, as this was always seen as the traditional 'Home' end'. http://www.footballgroundguide.com/...tic.html#awhat-is-it-like-for-away-supporters

Surely we'll be taking more than 1600? Doesn't the previous away end hold 3000 ish?

edit: chadderton road end holds 3700 apparently, so we should be fine!

The away attendance for Oldham last year was about 1600 so syncs up with the capacity stated above. Think the 3000 capacity stand is the opposite end with the 'no mans land' running through the middle.

Just checked the Oldham website and they have home end tickets for sale and the everywhere is available apart from the Zen Office Stand so we will be in there and will only get 1600 unless they move us/home fans at the last minute like Bury did in the FA Cup

Really ! this can't be right, if we're still in good form we will take 2500 plus no question, surely they will not want to miss out on the extra revenue

My first away game was on that terrace, Boxing Day '85, all I remember is how cold it was, and Peter Litchfield was unbeatable! On a serious note 1600 really? Even if we only took that last year, we would normally take more, similarly to Rochdale.. This maybe part of the delay, although I ain't sure how Oldham can give us more than the capacity of that stand.. The local plod will also not be too happy with the TBs at Rochdale, has a date been set for that?

That is what the attendance is on footballgroundguide. Trying to find other attendances but they are yet to have a big away following like a Sheff Utd or Bolton, the biggest so far that I can find is Bristol Rovers with 850. They only average 3500 this season so its not like they don't have space.

It beginning to feel like they don't want to release tickets either because the game is going to be moved due to Rochdale playing Huddersfield or they realise they have messed up and wont have enough for us and so are trying to figure out where to put us. I'd say the 2nd reason is more likely than the first.

There were 5,619 in total at the match last season.

Well if your right and you very well could be I think there will be a right scramble for tickets. Surly the priority system will come into force for this one Absolutely ludicrous

I also checked away followings and like you say all big away supported teams still to go there

That was the game Bobby headed the ball and Mr keeper who was still holding it in both hands, firmly into the back of the net. I thought it was 1984 in our championship winning season though
