After all the talk of City's best manager I had a quick cheCk to see who the most successful manager was statistically, although the results arn't set in stone and could be open to scrutiny these are ABOUT the top three.

Third Position... Granville Hair 01-01-1967 to 01-03-1968 played55 won27 lost 18 drew10

Second place.....Ray Wilson (caretaker) 07-09-1971 to 01-11-1971 played10 won 5 lost 3 drew2

( drum roll) and the winner is................................

Roy McFarland 01-05-1981 to 22-11-1982 played64 won35 lost13 drew16
LOUD APPLAUSE

Well it's somat like anyway, I only used 'most games won' against 'games played' !!!!

Sorry to spoil your post JY buy Grenville Hair was only in charge for two months as he died in March 1968 he only got to manage seven games.

Cheers

But he could have our wingers ghosting past the backs and our centre forward swiveling his head on the spot to score. Then again he could have had a ghost writer to help with his autobiography.

The thing is JY, all of Fleet Street uses Soccerbase which is somewhat worrying. Some of their transfer fees are way out.

Robert Cambell, Peter O'Rourke and McFarland were the only managers that actually won anything.

My money is on PJ though as achiving so much with so little. If he was till here we would have been in Europe now.
