    What a goal.

Love that even in slow motion, it is going like a bullet.

    Great memories.

Thanks! Great memories. Was actually in the Midland Road then, so the camera angle is similar to how we viewed the goal.

Definately one of my favourite City matches and it only seems like yesterday. Hard to believe that Nigel Pepper is now 48! According to Google he is now a social worker in York.

I was sat in the main stand, near halfway, right behind that shot as it rocketed in. Fantastic.

Thanks! Does anyone remember any other manager wearing their goalkeeper's kit in the dug out?

Ya Don't get many "indirect" freekicks inside the box these days !

Funnily enough we were debating that at work yesterday after watching a clip of Wimbledon vs Leeds from 1975 when Dickie Guy was saving everything they threw at him. Leeds had a free-kick in the box and some of our younger viewers were asking why! Kinda makes you feel old now! :(

Anyone know what it was given for ?

I didn't realise that it was 1992 since the back pass rule was introduced:wideyed:, quick Google and the 6 second rule was introduced in 1997, could it have been for that ?

Top bins! If he had missed and that ball had hit someone in the crowd it would have knocked them right up Bolton Road!

One of my favourite games and certainly goals. I had forgotten it was inside the box though. I was on the kop and I'm sure I ducked, I thought it was going to go right through the net, the hardest shot I think I have seen live to this day

If I remember rightly it was a foul given as obstruction, which is why it was a free kick and not a penalty. When really he just barged our lad off the ball when running through at goal. Would more than likely have been a penalty these days though.

I still remember the 1st 2 goals in this game. Tommy Wright in swinging free kick headed in by pepper, and another almost identical in swinging free kick that went past everyone and in at the far post.
