During the 2004/2005 season Tom Kearney got injured, this left a selection headache for Colin Todd. It was decided to bring a playmaker in on a short-term loan until the City number four was fit again, that man was Marc Bridge-Wilkinson. In only his second game MBW won over the fans by playing a big part in the down fall of local rivals HuddersfieldTown, by setting up Andy Cooke’s goals with a mazy run down the left wing in front of the kop. Marc then went on to build a strong partnership with Steven Schumacher in the centre which helped to improve City’s form during the closing stages of the season. The high point
of the season for MBW was his two goal contribution in the 4-1 win against promotion chasing Brentford.

Next season, alongside Schumacher it is hoped the midfield will get in the region of twenty goals. Further to that I believe that Todd should be looking to build his team around Wilko because he has the potential to become a city great.
