Bristol City are looking to further enhance their striking options as they line up a move for Torquay's Adebayo Akinfenwa.

The 23-year-old has seemingly burnt his bridges with the Devon side after performing a u-turn over a proposed contract extension, a scenario that infuriated Gulls boss Leroy Rosenior.

As a result Torquay now look set to lose the man who scored 14 times whilst the club were relegated to League Two, and have allowed Brian Tinnion's side to speak to Akinfenwa.

City are assembling a forward line to strike fear into the hearts of their rivals in League One after the earlier signing of experienced hit man Marcus Stewart.

Tinnion was already blessed with the prolific pairing of Leroy Lita and Steve Brooker, but is now intent on furthering his options with Akinfenwa.

Sound like hard work for League 1 defenses there.
